What is cannabidiol/CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is an organic compound that comes from the leaves, stalks, and flowers of industrial hemp or cannabis plant. It is the most widely accepted non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis. CBD oil should not be confused with marijuana even though they both come from cannabis; we extract the CBD oil contained in Jugheads products from industrial hemp.

Is CBD Oil legal?

CBD oil and other hemp-extracted products are perfectly legal to be used and sold within the United States. The growing, processing, and selling of hemp extracts – including cannabinoids from industrial hemp – is possible through federal regulation within Section 7606 of the Agricultural Act of 2014 which the U.S. Congress passed and signed into law.

Will using CBD oil get me “high?”

Because CBD is a non-psychoactive component from industrial hemp, it doesn’t any elements of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) that is familiar with cannabis; therefore, there’s no “high” effect as a result of using CBD.

How will CBD affect my body?

CBD affects the body by triggering the receptors of the endocannabinoid system within your brain and nervous system. These receptors regulate various body parts and systems – results may vary based on your purpose for using CBD.

How long does it take to feel the effects of CBD?

CBD effects can usually take up to 30 minutes depending on the dosage. Because there are no psychoactive ingredients with CBD oil, there is no “high” effect; however, a significant decrease in symptoms – reduced pain, calming sense, etc. - should be noticeable. Again, results are dependent on your dosage and purpose for using CBD.

What is the endocannabinoid system and how does it work?

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a complex arrangement of cannabinoid receptors within the brain and nervous system of humans and other mammals. These receptors regulate various functions of the body and are responsive to cannabinoids from hemp plants. The ECS affects many different body systems including but not limited to sleep, appetite, mood, pain, and memory.

Are there any side effects of CBD?

Any side effects of CBD are insignificant at best – nowhere near as relevant as those side effects from pharmaceutical medicines that are approved by the FDA. The most that CBD users have reported is minor abdominal discomfort or mild sedation. Again, there’s no “high” effect or psychoactive properties with CBD, so no worries about your ability to perform day-to-day duties.

Is it possible to take too much CBD at once?

CBD dosages will vary from person to person. Some cases may only need a little dosage while others may require higher intakes – it depends on which symptoms you’re trying to relieve. There are no reports of any lethal or deadly doses of CBD.

According to the Agricultural Act of 2014, the Obama Administration describes legal hemp plants as containing less than 0.3% THC which also makes cannabinoids extracted from hemp, such as Cannabidiol (CBD), legal as well.
